SANDON HALL, STAFFS ON SUNDAY 11 JUNE 2017

SANDON HALL, resplendent in a riot of colour from hundreds of flowering shrubs, mainly rhododendrons and azaleas, plays host to the Flower Power Fair on Sunday 11 June 2017.  We are open from 11am – 4pm.

Quality plant nurseries will be offering you high quality plants of all shapes, sizes and habits but all to suit every pocket.  If you’re looking for unusual plants, then we shall definitely have quite a few that you perhaps haven’t seen before.

We have a full compliment of plant specialists attending and  I’m delighted that the Staffordshire Hardy Plant Society will be joining us again too.  Ruth Plant works so hard, opens her garden to the NGS and manages to organise everyone to bring plants to Sandon Hall too.

DON’T FORGET TO BRING CASH TO ALL THE PLANT FAIRS.  MOST GROWERS AND SMALL NURSERIES DO NOT USE CARD FACILITIES and some of the venues are not near the old “hole in the wall” so don’t be disappointed, bring real money with you for all the plant fairs.

There has been a change of management at Sandon over the winter and for this year, the Hall will be open to the public (extra charge).  The new head gardener, GRANT,  has also been working his magic on the gardens too, and I would recommend you explore them as they have magnificent views across the Staffordshire countryside and if you look carefully, you will find some “eye catchers” on the horizons.  Grant is also having his own stand and will be helping children create BUG BEDSITS (as opposed to the larger “Bug Hotels”) at the fair.  You’ll be able to take them home with you.  He will also be showing people how to encourage hedgehogs into your gardens.

Refreshments are served in the Conservatory throughout the day and parking is free.  Admission to the gardens, grounds and plant fair is £3.00.  Dogs allowed in the park but not in the gardens.
