We’re back again at this delightful Hall and gardens and again Flower Power will be combining with PLANT HERITAGE at Rode Hall, Scholar Green, Cheshire in 2017. However the date has changed, principally because the owners wished to take full advantage of the wonderful wild bluebell displays they have in the woods adjoining the gardens.
So we are holding our event on SATURDAY 20 MAY. A huge collection of plants will on sale from highly respected Northern plant specialists and growers and the members of Plant Heritage also bring hundreds of their own plants to sell too (all sold for charity).
We have a full compliment of plant specialists attending including Penmere Plants (hardy fuchsia), Ox Eye Daisy, Jurassic Plants, Conquest Plant Nursery, Ruth Hall (who spearheads the HPS Staffordshire group and has an amazing garden of her own), Rectory Garden Nursery, Old School House (an amazing collection of peonies), North Staffordshire Hostas (mouse, miniature and standard hostas), Hempholme Plants and several others. I do hope you’ll come along and see for yourselves.
Apart from the plant fair, the gardens are well worth a visit. Perhaps best known for their huge collection of snowdrops, Rode Hall is also awash with wild English bluebells in May with cascades of them spilling all through the woods right down to the lake and hopefully they will still be in flower when we’re there too. Rode also holds a large collection of rhododendrons and azaleas too and of course you can visit the Walled Garden (vegetables, fruit trees and cutting garden) and finish off in their delightful cafe.
