The Coronavirus and events
As you are all aware we made the decision to cancel the Holme Pierrepont Plant Fair and now, with the Government insisting we all stay at home (and garden), we have had to cancel Sandon Hall too.
We have not cancelled Newburgh Priory Plant Fair yet BUT this is liable to change in a blink of an eye.
Please bear with us. The plant nurseries are desperate to get out and about and share their wonderful plants with you. They are all self employed so you can imagine that with the cancellation of plant fairs, the bigger flower shows like Harrogate, Chelsea and Chatsworth and cancellation of all gardening talks, they are now really in a bad place.
To this end I am desperate to get these fairs on the road but I have to follow the guidelines set down by the Government and Public Health, but if I do, it will be without any catering facilities at all. You would be welcome to bring your own drinks, food, picnics, etc and of course the toilet facilities will be open but please make your own risk assessment before venturing out.
Anyone with a high risk underlying illness – please stay at home. Anyone with a high temperature, cold or cough – stay at home. But if you’re fit and healthy and would like a wander through the gardens of Sandon Hall on 5 April or Newburgh Priory on 19 April – stay in touch.
The nurseries will all be well spaced out and I would just ask you to bring your own bags and ensure that you wear gloves if handling cash. Better to be over cautious.
Please keep in touch either via the website, my Facebook page (flowerpowerfairs), Twitter, Instagram or via phone/text 07730 859441.
Take care and keep on gardening.
