- HOLME PIERREPOINT HALL – 22 March 2020
Our first plant fair of the year will be at delightful Holme Pierrepont Hall on Sunday 22 March 2020 with the plant fair on the lawns in front of the Hall and will feature many of the best individual plant nurseries from the Midlands and the North. Always offering you choice plants and shrubs, and of course advice on how to get the very best out of the plants you buy. Some will be unusual, some even rare, but all have been grown by the people who sell them and offer excellent value for money, locally grown with low mileage.
Amongst the plant nurseries attending are Ashdale Nursery, Coopers Nurseries, Linda Scott Hardy Plants, Plant Wild, Ruth Hall, Roanne Nursery, Plantazia, ...
- SANDON HALL – Sunday 5 April 2020

- NEWBURGH PRIORY – Sunday 19 April 2020
Newburgh Priory is always the first YORKSHIRE plant fair of the year and again, we have a full compliment of wonderful plant nurseries and garden accessories attending the 2020 event. I love this place – it has a special place in my heart as it was the first venue I booked way back in 2006. A visit at any time of the year is uplifting but Spring promises so much and with over 40 acres of gardens and grounds to explore, you know it will be a great day out for all, including your dog.
The fair takes place on the Northern lawns looking down to the lake and the White Horse at Kilburn beyond and is always popular ...
- NESS HALL – Sunday 31 May 2020
This beautiful private garden looks stunning, at any time of the year, and for 2020 we have moved to the end of May to give you all another view of the garden as it moves from its spring colours into early summer. Harriette and her gardener, Alan, have lots of plans for the garden so until I visit them in April, I, too, am in the dark!
This garden is a treasure trove of fabulous plants, shrubs and trees. It has been created by three generations of ladies so has a dreamy, romantic feel to it and Harriette continues to change and improve the gardens. I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed.
Plant nurseries attending include Lavender and Pinks, Brambling House ...
- RODE HALL – Bank Holiday Monday 25 May 2020
The Rode Hall Spring Plant Fair will be on the Bank Holiday Monday, and offers visitors the added opportunity to visit the Hall too (separate admission).
The plant fair will be held on gravel outside the entrance to the Hall and now spills out onto the parkland just the other side of the garden wall. Admission to the plant fair also allows visitors to view the magnificent gardens (awash with spring flowering plants and bluebells) as well as a wander down to the lake to see the heronry there.
We had the most amazing weather in 2018, not quite so warm in 2019, so I am hoping that we may be lucky in 2020. Come early to get the best choice ...
- SANDON HALL – Sunday 2 August 2020
We make a return to Sandon Hall on Sunday 2 August for our second plant fair there this year so I hope those of you who visited in April will come back and see what wonderful plants are for sale in August. High summer in the gardens is something that I haven’t seen before so I am looking forward to viewing the gardens too.
The delightful 50 acre garden of Sandon Hall will look completely different from their April blooms so come back and explore all over again. You will have a huge selection of plants on sale here from small alpines to the big boys of the herbaceous border and everything in-between. Grant, the head gardener, will be on his ...
- SION HILL HALL – Sunday 14 June 2020 This will be our third visit to Sion Hill and following on from yet another successful year, we are back again in mid June. Described as “a masterpiece in the Neo-Georgian style,” Sion Hill is one of the last pre-eminent country houses to be built in Yorkshire prior to the Great War. The Arts & Crafts house was designed in 1912 by the renowned York architect, Walter H Brierley. It has an extraordinary garden, created over the past 18 years due to the dedication of its current Trustee, Michael Mallaby.
It’s a joy to wander through with reaching views across the River Wiske and features topiary, parterres, the Long walk and traditional kitchen garden and a centenary Rose Garden. Michael ...
- CONSTABLE BURTON HALL – Sunday 12 July 2020
What a successful day we had in 2019. I was thrilled with the support we got from the gardening folks in the Dales and so we shall be returning to this beautiful garden and property this year. A change in garden opening for 2019 means that you will only be able to visit when they hold a special event and this is their July special event.
The fair will be held on the lawns beside the house (not open to the public) and will feature a host of specialist plant nurseries and a handful of garden accessory stands too.
The list of nurseries attending is yet to be completed but I’ll let you know as soon as I have finalised it. ...
- WYNYARD HALL – Sunday 19 July 2020
We held our first plant fair here in 2017 and it was very popular with visitors and gardeners alike. We have been lucky with the weather too.
I’m hoping that the weather will be kind to us again in 2020 as this really is a world class garden. Sir John Hall has lavished over £2million bringing these two large Walled Gardens back to life. Our fair, held within the restored Rose Garden, and overlooking the water features and the impressive Café/Visitor Centre, spills all along the gravelled pathways right up to the Eating Garden beyond and features quality plant growers and nurseries from the North.
You can also buy your tickets on line so giving you “instant” access into the plant fair ...
- NEWBURGH PRIORY- Bank Holiday Monday 31 August 2020 I love this place!
A wonderful estate to visit at any time of the year but late summer offers you beautiful views, a peaceful lake alive with lots of wild fowl, woodland and water gardens and a short sharp hike up to the top of the hill to look back down onto the Priory and Sutton Bank beyond. With over 40 acres of gardens and grounds to explore, you know it will be a great day out for all, including your dog.
The fair takes place on the North lawns looking down to the lake and the White Horse at Kilburn beyond and is always popular with the individual plant nurseries and specialists who attend.
As always there will be some of the ...

- Worsall Hall – Sunday 28 June 2020
Beautiful, beautiful Worsall Hall. As those of you who have visited here before, you will know that we visit this garden on a “bi-annual” basis and 2020 is our year to be here.
We’ve changed the dates too – from July back into the end of June so allowing you all a different peep at this delightful family garden. Mr & Mrs Owen work so very hard to open the garden to us and all proceeds go towards the MS Trust.
Most information about Worsall Hall, participants and stories of the garden will follow next year, but don’t forget to make a note in your diary now.
Low Worsall, Yarm

- Coverham Abbey – Sunday 26 July 2020
We’re back! We took a break in 2019 as Mr & Mrs Corner were busy restoring and working on their wonderful period barns and stables so I for one can’t wait to see the changes they have made.
2018 wasn’t very kind to us, weather wise. It was the first day of the rain after that wonderful long hot summer. I was cursing – the rain could have held off until Monday morning, but no, we had rain all day long and it was chilly.
This beautiful old Abbey and its magical gardens is privately owned and only opened for this one day so please do come along and support us. All the proceeds will be ...
- Ganton Hall – Sunday 5 July 2020
I am delighted to be able to offer you a brand new venue for 2020 and again, a delightful private garden. Ganton Hall is just off A64 in Ganton village en route to Scarborough. This estate is not normally open to the public and I am thrilled to be bringing a plant fair in this area.
The gardens stretch down from the main house through a delightful water garden and then into the Vegetable gardens complete with hot walls and glass houses.
The fair will be held beside the period stables and will offer home made food throughout the day.
Participating plant nurseries will be Roanne Nursery, Lavender & Pinks, Through the Garden Gate, Giddy Kippers, Fayrefield Horticulture, Primrose ...
